2017 Border Creek Farm Summer Trial

Open- 2 runs ($40/run)
Nursery- 2 runs ($35/run) Minimum of 5 dogs per class.
Schedule: Saturday will begin with Open 1, followed by Nursery 1.
Sunday will begin with Nursery 2, followed by Open 2.
Handlers meeting both days: 6:30 AM
Sheep: 150 Gotland x ewes and lambs. Lightly dogged flock. In the unlikely event of a total loss of a sheep, the fee is $400.
Course: approximately 300 yard outrun. A few short blind spots on the fetch, but overall very doable.
Volunteers: Please contact me if you can help us out. We will definitely need scribes, extra push out (and up a hill) and perhaps some dedicated exhaust persons. Since this is our first trial, we will certainly need all the help we can get.
Food: Will have fruit, snacks, water and soda on site. If there is interest, we can order additional food.

Camping is welcome, no hook ups, but please let us know if you will be bringing a big rig. We will have to monitor the field for possible mud.
Directions: GPS will take you to the farm, but please do not enter on paved central drive- you will NOT be able to turn around with any camper! If you get to the central paved drive, you have probably gone too far and will have to go past the farm and turn around down the road. Handlers will be pulling directly into a 16 foot gate on the field where there is plenty of room to turn around. If coming from Hwy 15/340 and you get to a white farm house near the road, you have gone too far. Closest intersection is Renn Rd and Ballenger Creek Pike. Note: The trial field will be at the top of a somewhat steep hill. There will be limited parking there (for handicap, drop-offs and folks unable to walk up a biggish hill for whatever reason). Please when possible use the parking just inside the main gate.
Entries Open at 12:00 noon (EST) on June 22 and close at 12:00 noon (EST) on June 25 All entries submitted during this time will be treated equally with respect to any waiting lists. There are no refunds after June 30 and checks will be cashed at that time. |
